Welcome to the Department of Psychology at Government Degree College, Baramulla.
Established in 1972, our department has steadily evolved into a hub of academic excellence and holistic learning. We offer Honours in Psychology with a strong research component and have been successfully running the Master& Bachelors Programme in Psychology since 2018. Our academic structure is grounded in contemporary psychological theories and practices, ensuring that our students receive a comprehensive education that blends conceptual knowledge with practical insight.
A hallmark of our department is the RAAHAT Counselling Centre, an in-house initiative that provides professional psychological counselling and mental health support to students and the wider community. This centre also serves as a vital platform for experiential learning for our students, reinforcing our commitment to mental well-being and social responsibility
We take pride in our vibrant academic culture that includes research-based activities, student-led seminars, extension lectures, symposiums, debates, and discussions.
